Fall is definitely in the air here. The grandkids say it feels like Halloween. At last the really hot muggy weather has disappeared.
I finally found some time to spend in my craft room. Since I have started re-organizing it, I had to put everything in boxes to move furniture around to make way for my new storage unit. So far it is great. I would like to get another if I can make room. Now I have to unpack everything and put it away in some kind of logical order (no easy task for me who forgets just about everything). My husband tells everyone that if I put it away its not only in a safe place but filed under forgot. I sure hope this new reorg means that I will finally know where stuff is and not have to spend 3 hours searching for what I want and find it in a very unlikely spot.

I am in a domino book swap with my Creative Mind group and actually finished it on time. Not sure if its what is expected but hope my partner is OK with what I did. I also sent my I Hear a Symphony ATC's but forgot to take pics. Hope my partner does so that I can post here.

My next project is two Witchy torso tags. I have some ideas but first need to print off the template. Will post when I get them done.
My last big project is a calendar. I have 12 pages of the month of May to do. Lots of ideas rolling around in my noggin but need to get them on paper so that I can firm things up. Hope to be able to post a sample soon. I've got some Christmas projects to do too but can't post until after Christmas because you never know who is being naughty and trying to peek.
Got myself some flower dies this weekend and oooh are they fun. I have tried making flowers out of almost everything. Need to pick 8 to send off for a swap so will sign off now and try to post a little more often.

Queen of the Night
Steampunk
Tried my hand at some Steampunk. Not really sure what to do but jumped in and tried. We were asked to make a necklace out of a small tin but I am not sure if anyone will want to wear what I did as it seems so large. Had lots of fun looking for old bits and borrowed my son's tin snips to do some parts. I made this into a little memory box - it just felt right! I used crackle and alcohol inks on the front, alcohol inks on the sides and inside. There is also some distress ink smooshed in there in places. I have to send this off in the mail on Monday. Hope my partner is OK with this - I actually like it which is unusual for me. Oh well, off to try a couple of other things to see if I can get the stuff out of my head into some form on my craft table. Not feeling too spectacular today - sinus with a touch of bronchitis. Maybe crafting will make everything feel so much better.
Here are a couple of pics of my steampunk project.

I received two "Green" ATC's from Val on my Art for the Creative Mind group. Yahoo is not letting me upload to that site so I am displaying my "art gifts" here.
I also received my first of two altered envelopes. These are my favourite colours and I am not sure if I want to part with this envelope and send it to anyone.
Collaborated book swap
I finally got all my pages put together from this latest swap. I got so many great pages from some very talented artists. I was responsible for doing the front and back covers only. Feast your eyes on the wonderful pieces that I received.
It was up to me to do the covers and put the book together. Boy oh boy, that was not easy. My book making skills are poor to non-existant.
Here are the covers that I did.

This and that
Spring has finally arrived!! Its cold and windy here today but the flowers are starting to bloom so I know things are going to improve. Just had a look at a friend's etsy shop and since I am not too savvy on how to link it properly, I'll link it here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=44430185&fref=fb_itemlist
She does fabulous jewellery amongst other artistic endeavours. She was my tole teacher and still critiques my stuff and offers me support if I am a little hesitant about the quality of a particular piece. I know that I have to step up to the plate a little more often and post my creations here. Now that summer is here I hope to take more time for me and my art.
I am still a beginner trying to do some jewellery type crafting. Here is my first attempt. I have a very long way to go.
I am not the only one that wants to get out and enjoy the spring weather.

This is Cupcake, my very first art doll. It was lots of fun and I got to use some everyday items in an unusual way. Her stocking were made with mesh (from a potato bag) and brushed on distress ink. Used my Big Shot (which I totally love) on some wrapping paper to make her skirt. Of course a cutout from a magazine of her cupcake hat.
I have pages for a journal swap which I'll post in a few days. I have a couple of other pieces that I've done and hope to work on a few more and post this weekend.
The weather is getting more spring-like and I'm hoping Spring is soon to follow.
My head is almost bursting with ideas and I will have to take a moment to try and get the ideas on paper. It never ceases to amaze me that most of the ideas happen at night, just before I fall asleep.
Got to go now - Happy crafting!

- I am an avid photographer. My favourites are flowers, animals, nature. I have recently gotten into mixed media arts - painting, collage, ATC's and sketching. Lots of my photos are taken with art in mind. I live in the country with my husband, two dogs and a cat. I have two wonderful grandkids who visit often and keep me laughing. My motto is: Look for the good stuff in everything and everybody!
